Seminar on Big Data

On 26/11/2018 department organized seminar on big data for sixth semester BCA students. The session mainly focused to create awareness about the importance and the market value of big data. In the seminar students could understand how big data is used in the industry. They also discussed about the implementation of big data in hadoop platform. Ms. Pooja Santhosh, Big Data trainer from Proteus Infotec, Ernakulam was the resource person.

“Skill connect competition -2018″

Two students Varsha Sudarsan and Arya Praveen of BCA semester 5 and three students  Arun Narayan, Tans P Martin, and Akhil Raj of BCA semester 3 has participated  Second level  of Skill Connect 2K 18 – National Talent hunt program- conducted by ‘Networkz Systems’ Ernakulam  at Ernakulam .

Cyber Security – Ethical Hacking – Workshop

A Group of 26 students of BCA fifth semester  and faculty Mr. Vishnu TB, attended one day workshop on Cyber security and Ethical hacking at Technovalley Software India Pvt Ltd, Ernakulam on 28-09-2018. By this workshop students could understand about the importance of cyber security. Through this one day experience they become interested in Ethical Hacking. All the students got certificate of participation of the workshop.

Hardware Workshop

Dept of Computer Science had conducted a hardware workshop for the final year students. Mr. Samuel Antony and Mr. Sarath Modi from final year BCA carried out the session. They introduced all the major hardware equipments and its specialties along with its updated technology. They discussed the latest trends in the hardware industry. By the workshop, students got aware of the assembling of a computer system. The final session of the workshop discussed on formatting a hard disk. Boot priority, boot media, BIOS, Partitioning etc terms were discussed and familiarized.
